Palaruvi

Palaruvi waterfalls is situated 16 km from Thenmala. The place looks so natural as there are not much buildings and construction work. Palaruvi is around 4 km deep into the forest from the NH 208. The waterfall is about 300 foot high. The natural forest is really nice. Funny actions of monkeys makes the tourists laugh.

Thenmala

Thenmala is a well known Eco-Tourism spot in Kerala. This is the first Eco-Tourism destination in India. The place is situated in the Kollam - Shenkottai national Highway. The nearest city/railway station is Punalur.
Because of the scenic beauty, lots of malayalam, tamil movies were shot here. Thenmala Dam is built across the Kallada river. This place approachable by road from Punalur. The train service is temporarily stopped due to expansion of Punalur-Shenkottai meter gauge track.

Perumthenaruvi

Perumthenaruvi is a beautiful water fall situated near Ranny in Pathanamthitta District. This place can be developed as a very good eco-tourism center like Thenmala. The steeping rocks & marvelous waterfall is really a feast to the eyes. This place is not crowded. Here the rocks are not slippery. Even children can go there safely. The KSRTC is operating one service from Chengannur to Perumthenaruvi. It is regretting that KTDC is not providing even the basic facilities to the tourists.

It's really a wonder - why some parts of the world are so captivating!
